Anyone have a SS Smith factory refinished?
I have one that was originally brushed, and I bought it bead-blasted, and I'd like to return it to a brushed finish. I have had revolvers re-blued at the factory and they do a great job with that. Anyone have a SS gun refinished?
Will they re-stamp all the markings, including those on the frame, barrel, etc?

I've "heard" they do a great job. I think the marking are required, so... A call to their CS will answer that.
I grew up in CLT. Sad to see how my old area has gone so downhill (West Meck).

I just got my 686-1 back from S&W for being refinished after they replaced the yoke. This was one of the 8-3/8" guns with adjustable FRONT sights. S&W DESTROYED MY GUN. Appearence wise it is the worst looking *** that I've ever seen. No Ruger or Taurus on the planet looks as bad as my 686 looks. It's like they had a 800-1000 grit grinding wheel and an operator that just didn't give a SH&$. Yep, I'm pissed. When I opened the box I was upset and wanted to throw up. Now, I'm just pissed.
Now I'm stuck with a good shooting *** that has no real value anymore.

Did you complain and ask to send it back? Put some pictures here...I'm sure everyone would like to see a representative sample of their work.

I've thought about posting pic's. I'll try. Send it back? They did not even do all the work that I paid for. I called them within minutes of opening the box,and they are going to send me a shipping label. When there has been to much metal removed on the top strap in the "refinish", how do you (them) fix that?
I asked about the turn around time, because this last time was 3 months. I was told that even IF they put it to the front of the line, it would still be 4 weeks. Add that 4 weeks on top of the 2 weeks it will take them to get it into their system.
