Default 1936 M&P sideplate screw thread sizes

Hey everyone:

Can anyone tell me the correct size of the sideplate screw holes on a blued 1936 S&W M&P 4 screw. I mainly need the upper flat head thread size and the (2) round head thread sizes. I am suspecting they are either 8-32 or 6-32 on the side plate but I am just not sure.

Two of the round head threads are rolled over and missing the screws. I bought the screws but need to clean the threads first before I install the screws.

Should these threads be cleaned up with a 2 flute or three flute tap?

Those threads are ABSOLUTELY NOT 6-32 or 8-32.

Don't even think of running those size taps into the frame!!

Ok...I finally got an answer after many different inquiries. This is from the Brownells Gun Tech.

"The information we have lists this as a 5x44 TPI screw. The stock number for the tap is 395-544-002.

I bought the tap, retapped the hole and the new "large head" flathead screw fits just fine.
