I recently acquired a 17-2 that showed little evidence of being used. On firing the gun at home I found two cylinder were dragging and discovered a wobbly/bent extractor rod was bearing on the underbarrel bolt. I replaced and fitted a new extractor rod but the problem remained. Only by screwing the extractor into the extractor rod and chucking it in a drill is the wobble noticeable. Does an extractor rod 'bend' at the point just ahead of the threads? Could the extractor itself be tapped offcenter? Are the extractor and rod screwed together when you attempt to straighten them? I don't quite know what to do. I have no dial indicator but I am willing to get one if needed. Nor do I have a yoke allignment tool, but the cylinder locks up and releases smoothly. Thank you for any suggestions.
