I was lucky enough to get a 625 JM Model in .45ACP two weeks ago. I love shooting this revolver. I have been experimenting. I took off the wood JM grips and got some Pachymer Decelerators. I kind of like them better for my hands.
The pistol was lightly used and I got it for $725 w/ 25 moon clips and the S&W Box. It shot rather poorly the first time out but I discovered that the rear sight screw was loose. A little Blue Loctite fixed that right up and really improved the accuracy.
The Gold Dot front sight isn't bad but I'd like to put a High Viz Green Sight on it. They are about $45 but High Viz says they don't come drilled and they recommend a Gunsmith. I don't have one? The pin that holds the front sight to the barrel is just "microscopic" - it looks tapered, too. I have no idea how to do that job myself? Has anyone ram across this job before?
Thanks,
John
