Default model 37 barrel change

I have a 3" airweight barrel that I would like to install on my 2" flat latch. Both are pinned, original S&W barrrels. The 37 is a clean shooter at 90%. Does S&W do this swap? I've heard of frame twist problems with this model. Any info?

Thanks,
Ischia

I have heard, but have no pesonal experience with, that the alloy frames tend to crack when trying to rebarrel. I have heard this especially with regards to the M12, but don't see why it would be different with the M37.
I would call S&W and see if you can talk to some one in the performance shop and they can probably give you an accurate answer. Just remember, if it does crack, you are stuck with a IL frame if it is replaced by S&W.
Let us know what they say.
