I have heard, but have no pesonal experience with, that the alloy frames tend to crack when trying to rebarrel. I have heard this especially with regards to the M12, but don't see why it would be different with the M37.
I would call S&W and see if you can talk to some one in the performance shop and they can probably give you an accurate answer. Just remember, if it does crack, you are stuck with a IL frame if it is replaced by S&W.
