Question Slabside barrel

In 2006 S&W changed the barrel on a 629 Stainless (629-8) to a slabside barrel. I've done some research trying to find out exactly what a slabside barrel is, without much luck. Can anyone help. TIA

I've seen slabside barrels on the 627s' but not on the 629. Mostly used on either the PC models or Pro Series guns. They are refered to as contour barrels also, simply flat on the sides with a tappered lug.
