I have been thinking about building an IDPA SSR revolver in 38. I have located a 64-6 HB that looks to be pretty clean for a starting point.
I consider a fiber optic front sight as the first requirement on an SSR revolver for my 59 year old eyes.
Now can a sight slot be cut, and a pined on fiber optic sight installed for this application? Pined on sight heights are .250, and .300
OR
Would a dovetail 1911 fiber optic sight be a better way to go, as they are windage adjustable? Looks like the one on my Colt 1911 is .172. I have not checked Dawson Sights for available heights yet.
Anyone done this modification? Results?
