It is easy to do. You do know which way the threads are on your K-22 correct (right hand versus left hand threads).

I do know about the threads,in fact I have another Smith that screws the opposite way as well. My cylinder only has movement to the rear,the forward movement is gone. I have been shooting this gun since the middle eighties problem free so I guess a little maintainence is in order.
