I have a 657 Classic Hunter and have purchased a front sight with red insert from Midway. I also purchased a pin just in case. The pin diameter is .056. A post on the forum states that the pin diameter should be .055, my pin is clearly .056. I will purchase a good cup punch and measure the original pin diameter and go from there. Has anyone ever used the front sight pin offered on Midway ? S&W shows two part numbers for front sighr pins for the 657. Confused but will work it out.

Reason: My original info was not correct. I received the parts and now have accurate dimensions for the pin.
Don't worry, it will work just fine. .001 it will drive right in. If your afraid it won't go, drop the pin in the freezer. The pin will shrink some.
One part number comes back as locking bolt pin, classic (072520000). I'm not sure exactly what's up but it might be shared with another part on some guns.
