Default Polished 5906

I found a new way in presenting the amount of reflection I now have on my 5906.
I hope you like my efforts, as it was a labor of love to improve the scratched and worn look of a used pistol.

Leon

That's really something. I bought a 5906 today, but I got the matte stainless. They had one with a shiny finish, but it was dinged up a little. Do you just buff the hell out of it with a dremel?

I block sanded the finish until the pitted finish was smooth.
The large wide areas were polished with a wide cloth wheel on a die grinder, and the smaller, hard to reach areas were done with a dremel.
Like what has been said here many times, if the dremel isn't used correctly, you can end up having a wavy finish because the dremel polishing wheels are too small and hard and will groove the finish if not careful.

I have been polishing metal since the mid 70s, and have learned alot over the years.

This is what I startred with, and feel I had very little to loose in trying to improve the beauty of this pistol, considering the gouges in the finish..

It shoots as well as it looks, if not better!

Leon
