Default Engraving?

Hey folks. Looking to get my 637's backstrap engraved with my initials from the guys at Smith and Wesson. Just wondering if anyone here has had any experiance with them, and if so, if you could post a picture of their work. Thank you!

I wanted my wife's nickname engraved and was quoted a ridiculous price by S&W, like over $1500.

I went to the mall and Things Remembered was less than cordial about their views on firearms.

Take the side plate to a trophy shop. This cost me $16. If I decide to sell it, I can get a new plate easily enough.

Airweights have a clear coat over the aluminum. If you engrave into that it's going to have that finish coming off like you won't believe. A steel gun would be a better idea.

Besides, just the cost of shipping it to S&W will make your eyes roll. It costs waaaaaay to much to ship guns.
