Default S&W K-frame parts compatibility?

I'm looking for a replacement center pin and extractor rod for my 17-2, not an easy task. I am now wondering about parts compatibility from other K-frames? Maybe I could get parts from say a 14? I need left hand twist though, when did the model 14 switch to that?

I saw some interesting possibilities on Numrich:
Extractor Rod, Blue, For Over 2'' Barrels

Visually this is identical to mine, but thats not much to go on...

Not only do the K-frames share the same parts, there are parts that will also fit the L & N-frames.

The switch to left hand threads on the extractor rod took place around 1959.

Default K frame parts

I have a K frame 2" barrel manufactured in 1960. It has a RH thread on the ejector rod. I need to replace it. I bought one off of GunBrokers right size and everything, but LH thread. I finally called S&W talked with Mel and he said that RH threads were no longer available, but offered to rethread the new one I bought and change it to RH. So, if you are looking for LH, you should not have any problems finding it.

Hmm and the 14 came about in 1957 so probably not a fit then.

I bought a 17-4 extractor rod from brownells, its too short. I bought a 17-7 center pin from the same place, the collar is in the wrong place on that one.
