Sourcing a hand for a 1905 32-20 hand ejector
Hello I recently came into possession of what I believe is a 1905 32-20 hand ejector. The timing is bad off, upon disassembly I found the hand to be very worn, also one of the the sideplate screws (upper screw by the hammer) is missing. Can anyone suggest a place to source these parts so I can put this fine firearm back in shooting condition?
Thank you!
P.S is there any other parts I should inspect for excessive wear that would effect the timing?

Gun Parts Corp. has the upper side plate screw, and may have a hand also. If not, try Jack First or Poppert's.

Here are a couple photos. Take into consideration 3/32"- 1/8" is missing from the skinny end where my bone head buddy had the bright idea to smack it with a center punch to shift the metal out to make up for the wear. Well, he had it smacked and broke before I could get "It's hardened!" out of my mouth. I can get what measurements I can from it if you need them.

Since you have it out, Trace out on paper for a patten, go down to a welding shop and have some body tig weld on it to build it up. Cut down to the size (with help of pattern) you need and get it working, take it out heat and dip in oil (or what ever) to harden it.

I thought of that but am not sure of the original shape because the very end is gone and my memory is fuzzy on the correct angles.

I measure the total length at 1.055.It looks just like yours but measure yours to see what it is.This hand is out of a parts kit I got so the part is used but should be serviceable for you.If this is right ,then send me a PM with your address and I will send it to you for $3 to cover a padded envelope and shipping.I have the screw you need but it has been chrome plated so I don't now if it would work for you. Good luck, Ken

This one measures 1.034 but considering the end is chipped off yours should be the correct one. I could remove the plating from the screw and touch up blue it I suppose?

My thanks to Ken and his great generosity I now have the correct hand and upper frame screw. I installed them today, the cylinder is just a hair out of time still. The ejector rod was bent, I straightened it and that helped, it's only missing in S/A now. I inspected the fingers (for lack of a better term) on the extractor and they appear quite worn and the metal is very soft. Would replacing this part put it back in time so it's safe to shoot? Generally speaking that is.

Can you measure the new hand with a micrometer or calipers? A slightly wider hand would bring it into time.

A little tuning, got rid of some burrs on moving parts and she's in time. whoopie! Now I gotta go hunt up some shells so I can see how it shoots. Thanks to all who responded and special thanks to Ken for sending me the parts I needed to get this ol' girl back in working order.

Also, thought I'd post a picture of two of it. I bought it at a yard sale for $100, it has the original flap holster, but all the black rubbery coating is pretty much gone. He said his grand dad carried it in one of the wars (WWI or WWII). If that is true I NEVER would have parted with it (personally). It shows a lot of wear, it is 100% browned patina. Bore has some spots in it but not too bad.
