What's Going on at Ford's?
I sent them a gun in late April for polishing and rebluing. According to the person that answers the phone when I call, the gun is "still in the strip tank". Are they so busy they can't handle it, or are they having other problems? I was just wondering if anyone is having (or has had) a similar experience with them. I have had them work on other guns in the past with good success.

Ford's is not far from me. I have been to their facility. They are very nice people and do quality work. They are a family run business. I would imagine that has it's issues that go with it. Speak to Lorna, she is the one that knows what is going on.

I emailed them about 8 months ago about sending them two Guns for rebluing. Did not hear from them. Sent a second email - no response again. Sent the guns to Colt (Single Action Army Revolvers) and I am GLAD Ford's ignored me because Colt did a SUPER MAGNIFICENT reblue and case hardening job at a great price. I Could not be happier!
Thanks Fords!

to Oldmcdonald...
Demand that they send your gun back to you or you will take action. Legal action or consumer action. Thats BS when gunsmiths and wannabe (I was a machinist for 49 years) gun butchers or dreamers tell you that . In fact any business that gives you that is not worth their salt. They got problems and or lousy persons in the office. Some gunsmiths do not like to take calls or talk to their customers (it ties up there time) but its probably because their windy. I would not stand for it and I have been there so I speak from experience. Good luck.
PS. Send it to Smith and Wesson maybe?
