Default Wolff Reduced Power Main Spring in my K-Frame

I tried a reduced power Wolff mainspring in my Model 65 K-frame today and didnt much care for it. It makes the gun feel "stiffer" to me. Do they require a break-in period? I just bottomed out the tension screw when i installed it.

On the other hand, I love the Wolff reduced power coil mainspring in my J frame : )

Did You also replace the re-bound spring with a 12, 13, or 14 lb spring?
Sometimes changing (only) the rebound spring to a, per se, 13 lb unit and leaving the hammer spring as standard, lightens the action considerably.

FWIW: Usually, professional gunsmiths leave the factory springs intact, and choose to lighten the action by stoning, smoothing, and applying special procedures.

I havent experimented with the rebound spring yet. I have the kit . I have already stoned the slide, etc and the action is smooth but, i want to lighten the DA pull just a little.

Jerry Miculek, who certainly knows about such issues, stresses in his DVD that "balance" between the mainspring and rebound spring is essential to a good action.

I ended up using a 14 lb rebound spring and the reduced power mainspring and it feels great! Of course, the real test will be at the range but, I think it will be fine.
