Default Left or right hand thread???

Unless my memory fails me (which it may have a time or two) at some point in the production of the Mod 19 K frame they changed the ejector rod thread from left hand to right hand. I don't recall the dash number where it changed, can anyone help me on this?????
This is a 19-5, 2.5", serial ALC8XXX. Thanks in advance for any assistance......

A 19-5 is a left hand thread.

Bailey Boat,

Your gun was made about 25 years after the change to left-handed threads. This was the 19-1 in 1959. Any -1 or higher S&W has left-handed threads.

Thanks to both of you.... That was the only part I had to leave alone when I gutted it earlier today. It just didn't want to turn in either direction!!! Now I can put some real pressure on it since I know which way to go..... Thanks again...
