Default Model 686-Model 66-compatible triggers?

I have a Model 66-1 which has a wide target trigger, and I'd like to swap it into my 686-3. Is it as simple as taking one out and putting into the other, or will there be other considerations such as the triggers being totally incompatible, improper hand size, timing, etc.

I'm thinking of selling the 66-1, but would like to keep the target trigger for the 686-3 I plan to keep.

Any input appreciated.

Frequently (usually) the triggers will interchange. Sometimes they won't, you just have to try it. Keep the hand with the gun. Swap only the trigger.

Tomcatt- thanks for the suggestion! I tried inter-changing complete trigger units (trigger & hand), and this worked in the 686, but not the 66 (hand incompatible). I'll try your excellent advice.

Thank you so much for your assistance!
