Default IL and gunsmithing

Would those of you who are gunsmiths work on a S&W revolver that had the Internal Lock removed, and had The Plug in its place?

Say someone wanted everything checked over and also wanted a tune-up, a trigger job...would you do the work on a gun that had the IL removed?

I would not have a problem with the plug in place instead of the dreaded I/L. As I have stated many times on this forum, I see NO REASON to have the stupid thing in there in the first place. A simple cable lock through the cylinder accomplishes the same thing IF someone has the need to disable the firearm. NO SANE PERSON would carry a self defense weapon with a lock engaged! Well, that's my 02 cents anyway.

I have not seen a problem with the lock . But with or without, I'd do work as my customer asks if I think it's the right thing to do. A meeting of the minds is not always possible.
