Yoke Alignment Tool?
Just wondering if any of you craftsmen have made you own yoke alignment tool? I'm looking for an easy and fairly cheap to make option rather than spending the coin for a new one. They are fairly spendy. I'll admit I haven't thought about it much yet but hoping to get some ideas.

Yes i made several sizes back in the 70's at that time I had a tool post grinder for my lathe, also a furnace to harden and heat treat with. Buy them, to make them correctly requires a bit of time and precision work. Paul

Had an issue with my M58 cylinder binding up on one chamber took it to The local smith man. He refaced the barrel and timed it. Then it still binds not as bad but doesn't lock up on three chambers. The heck with it I'll fix it. Bought an ejector rod and center pin, along with the alignment tool. Well yoke was off about 1/32 and it took a couple of adjustments but now no bind and locks up every time. Buy it you'll save in the end. Im sure I'll need it in the future as I trade quite often. Good luck

I'll report on this old thread. I was on the email notification with Midway to be notified when they have the yoke alignment tool in stock for the K, L and N frame. I received the notification earlier this week, they are in stock for $28.99, it's finally in the mail and at half the price of Brownells. The wait is over! Once I get it, I'll report on condition. I bought the J frame tool from Brownells a few months ago and was a little disappointed in the rough finish condition, only aesthetic though.
