Default 586 Cylinder is hard to turn whether cylinder is open or closed

My 586 no dash's cylinder suddenly became hard to turn. Cylinder open and closes without any issue. I can dry fire the gun, but action is very heavy as the result of the cylinder. Gun is very clean all over including under the extraction star. Nothing specific jumps out. Could I get any thoughts?

Thanks so much.

When's the last time you took the yoke out of the gun, cylinder off the yoke, and cleaned, lubricated the entire assembly?

Sounds like something, (wire bristle usually) got into the inside of the cylinder, take cylinder apart, clean, also yoke, inside and out then see if that makes a difference. Bob

Weird. I had already taken the yoke off and cleaned everything. Tried it again, didn't see anything different, but this time, the cylinder spun freely when I put everything together. Weird.

All it takes is a stray bit of powder or something similar to do this, shoot a revolver long enough and I expect at some point every revolver owner will have to deal with this.
