Model 41 Mag Disconnect
Is there any improvement in trigger pull to be gained by removing the mag disconnecter on the Model 41? Or is it even possible to remove the disconnect and have the pistol still function at all?

The way the gun looks to me, there is no way to remove it. I could be wrong though.
But with that said, what advantage would you gain removing it? Doesn't it already have an adjustable trigger?

I've heard of people removing the magazine disconnect or at least modifing it so they can clear the gun and drop the hammer on the firing line without inserting a magzine. I'm not sure how this was accomplished though.

If you're thinking about shooting in an NRA match don't do it . They'll disqualify the gun . You can adjust the pull weight on a 41 .

NRA matches are not an issue for me. I am also aware that the trigger is adjustable. I'm just curious as to whether there actually trigger pull improvement with disconnecter removal

Some what disappointed by the responses as well.
I've got a 41 that often has issues with the magazine disconnect not allowing the trigger to reset. Happens with 1/2 dozen magazines including some brand new.
Would love to eliminate the device as I have no need for it.

I haven't done this but did look at a friends 41 to see about doing it. It looked like there would be some parts modifying but it was do-able. It is more involved than just removing the link like on Buckmarks.
I definitely do not like magazine disconnectors.

I've had mine apart looking at how the mechanism works and I agree that it is doable but I'd still like to know what effect it may or may not have on trigger pull. In just looking at it, my tentative opinion is that it would be minimal if at all but I'd like to hear from someone who is far more knowledgeable about Model 41s than I am.

The mag disconnect, with no magazine in the gun, pushes the trigger bar out of contact with the sear. It can be removed and the gun will function but on a target/plinker I prefer to have it in the gun. I can't imagine it's removal would lighten trigger pull. One problem the magazine disconnect can cause, after years (decades) on being under strain, the end (left side) of the mag disconnect spring can unwind just enough to block the passage of the safety stud making it inoperable. Then again, few use the safety on a Model 41.

Thanks for your reply. It pretty well confirms what I thought, that is, removal of the mag disconnecter would serve no use to anyone other than folks looking for a quick mag drop. I think the person that I read about originally was mistaken and while his 'smith may have removed the disconnect, it was other work that provided him with a better trigger.
