Default S&W 945

I have an early, full size 945. Does anyone know if the sear is the same used in a Model 1911?

Here's an answer to my own question. I finally got hold of someone at S&W who told me that the sear for the 945 is exclusive to the gun and as a result the gun must be sent to S&W so it can be "custom fitted" (their words) and that they will not sell a sear to a customer.

Why do you think you need a sear? If its chipped or broken or otherwise damaged I could see why but if its just hammer follow or creep you could fix it.

I don't actually need a sear at this point. However, being a wannabe gunsmith, I do enough to my own guns to get me in trouble at times and wanted to know for future reference. Without touching the sear, I have reduced trigger pull to 2.5 to 2.75 lbs. My guess is that it has to use Federal primers only. In any case, it really lets me see the accuracy it's capable of-impressive.
