Default Advice on Installing Trigicon HD's

Have a pair of Trig HDs (0137) on order for my Shield and would like to install them myself. I have a Sig pusher and a Glock pusher but no Shield pusher. This leaves the old hammer and punch method. Wondering how tight the clearances are; I can remember some Sigs even the pusher strained to get out/in. I have done many over the years but still get queezy hammering on those night sights. Looking from behind, do they come out to the right? Beyond heating the slide and keeping the new sight cold, any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Ed

I would see if the slide fits into one of your pushers and if the push pin can be aligned. Teen I would make some shims to snug the slide top and sides into place. Should work. I just did a thin Sig 290 front with a XD pusher and am going to try to use it on my MP40c when the Meps get here next week.

You can rent a sight pusher from Speed Shooter's Specialties. Or you can cobble together leather or kydex pads for you vise and shape brass punches to the angle and face shape you want to make contact with the sight. The sights drift out the same way the gun ejects. I make sure to take out the rear sight screw and use masking tape all around the sight to protect the finish. I prefer my sight pusher. Watch for escape attempt by spring powered round disc under the sight.
