The 3 q tips are regular paper sized ones about 3". No wood or plastic.
Yeah, the sustained heat would set there in the barrel. Don't think it would hurt the stainless steel. I mean My barrel smokes when I shoot. 24 rounds in a minute anyway.
What solvent were you thinking of?
Not sure how to remove the cylinder because it will not fully come out far enough to fully remove the yoke screw. I already took out the ejector rod and spring.

I got it out and all's well.
Twisting the copper wire rod clockwise with the threads and rods as not to unscrew it took the tiniest bits of fuzz out. Then I started cutting the rear of the q tips out with sharp finger nail scissors. Kept twisting that rod. Finally, I felt the cotton tight on the rod and copper brush pulled and they all came out.
