Default rework front sights for model 10 & model 15

Ok have a model 10 and model 15 standard front sights. Instead
of milling away the sight blade on both revolvers, why couldn't I have the smith mill away the part of the ramp racing the shooter and leave the highest part of it straight and true and then have him install a SDM gold bead. See I shoot a few revolvers and always have problems seeing the front sight. Yes I know that you could paint the ramp but to me it looks kinda tacky.I have had the chance to hold various revolvers with the SDM gold insert. And that it was a better way to bring down the gold bead either into the notch ona fixed sight gun or into the notch on a adjustable sight gun. Thanks, Frank
