new member with rough cut forcing cone on model 57 41 mag. I purchased this revolver new did a trigger job but the cone shows tool marks. does the factory cut them at 5 degrees? Iam thinking about a 11 degree cut and then polish. I am a hobby machinest but not a gunsmith "yet". Can anyone advise. thank you.

I just watched this video, and am interested. Would this be a possibility for improving the accuracy of a 25-2 with 45 ACP lead bullet loads? My gun has a little over-sized throats, and shoots jacketed ball fine, but accuracy with lead falls off. Also, I looked in both Midway and Brownells and could not locate the tools. Can you list a source for buying the cutter tools?

Anyone done this?

hello richard, brownells cat. number 64 page488 revolver chamfering tools and kits. I have a model 25 in 45 acp bought it used of course. This revolver was built in 60, 61 according to s&w the timing is off on three cylinders according to my range rod ,also I will check the yoke tube for alignment. it sprays pie plate groups at 25 yds. my chambers measure .455 to .456 large at best. the cone appears to have 18 degree cut
overall the revolver is sound . I have faith in the old gal.I will make the repairs and see what happens. using swc 200 grain
for now. back to the range after repairs. i am a hobby machinest not a gunsmith "yet" . good luck will let you know.
