Does anyone know where I could send my grips to be checkered and refinished?
I have a model 60-14 Lady Smith .357 and it has the stock smooth cocobolo grips on it. They are WAY too slippery for shooting .357 loads, but they are absolutely gorgeous and I want to keep them on there. If I could find someone that could checker them for me, and then perhaps refinish them, I would be extremely happy!
My suggestion would be to either buy a set of (as new) older checkered Smith grips or buy a set from Altamont who now makes them for Smith. I would think that the cost to send them out and have them checkered would be cost prohibitive.

Back in the day she was with Kimber of Oregon.
Grips checkering starts at $110 and UP. Lots of up possible.
Forum member Gatorbaiter has done 2 sets of Gris for me. I have nothing but awesome thugs to say about him. I sent him a set of Jordan Trooper Grips about 2 years ago that came back awesome. I also sent 2 more sets about 2 months ago that we're even better than my troopers. He is 1 st rate. If you can't find him I will try to PM his info tomorrow for you.
Where can I get checkering done on my grips?
