Replaced the mainspring and rebound slide spring with a wolf spring kit. For purpose of everyone being on the same page, I'm calling the side of the rev with the thumb latch the "left Side", then there is the top side, the bottom side (upside down) and the right side ( the side plate side). When the revolver is turned on the left side, held upright or upside down, it cocks in single and double action just as it should, When turned on its right side, the hammer goes almost all of the way back, but stops just short of actually cocking. You can pull a bit harder and it will then cock, but there seems to be something that wants to stop the hammer from going all the way back. This only happens when it is on the right side. It has the same "sticky point", for lack of a better term, in either single or double action. The orientation of the pin inside the rebound spring doesn't seem to make a difference. Is it possible that I used a rebound slide spring that is too light? (12 lbs) Should I go heavier? Is it even possible that this is the problem?
