I just bought my M&P9c with New York 10-round magazines.
I found that it is a PAIN to fit the 10th round into the mag, and if the slide is closed it's difficult to fully install the mag.

My question is, is there any way to tweak the magazine to make it a little easier to fit the 10th round without sacrificing feed function?
I'm not trying to cheat & fit an extra round in. I just want to fit the 10th round easier.

Any thoughts or ideas? Is there anything I can shave or trim a little bit?
Or should I just be patient & wait for things to break in?

If you look on you tube, you'll find a video or two on how to modify magazine followers (with file/Dremel). ( Might be for Glock but basic principles will apply to most mags.) What they do is to thin/reduce the followers bottom edge to allow them to sit deeper in the mag at full compression. Haven't tried it ( or really had the problem with my 10 rd M&P mags) but it shouldn't be hard if you have basic mechanical awareness.

Uplula to load them and insert the mag with the slide locked back. Way less frustration that way.

I filed down the legs on my followers as indicated in the video and it worked great.
Now round #10 slides right into the mag. the way it should.
