Hey everyone, my M64 is one with the IL. I would like to do some trigger work on it to get some of the DA creep out of it. I cannot find any videos with a trigger job being done on an IL revolver. Would any of you be able to point me in the right direction?

A great starting point is to purchase Jerry Mivulek's DVD.
Lots there that you can mess up.
He will guide you step by step.
I have done it on all my 64s.
I use Wolff springs in mine when tuning.

Do his DVDs show work with an IL gun?

It would, minus the locking stuff.
The MIM parts are so smooth that you would need to do little polishing, however.

When you say the MIM parts are so smooth what would be causing the creep in the DA pull? It occurs right before the trigger breaks.

Although I don't know beans about the S&W internals, I would bet that it is actually a very minor timing issue, in other words, one that doesn't actually have to be corrected, and that may even wear in. I had a similar situation with a 25-2 AFTER I had it worked on by someone whom I had reason to believe was a very competent gunsmith. I can understand that you want it corrected, and I would not try to talk you out of that. However, I would suggest that before you take drastic steps, you pop the sideplate and re-lube the hammer and trigger, including DA sear, and hand, with RIG +P Stainless Steel Lube. This is a lube that is designed, I believe, for high pressure applications. You don't need to use much at all, but it is significantly superior to most other lubes. Perhaps Brownell's Action Magic and perhaps some moly lubes equal it, but I don't really know for sure. I do know that the RIG +P stuff fixed my 25-2, made a hitch simply disappear. It might do the same for you.

Thank for that info. I will try that first for sure.
