Default DA/SA hammer

Noticed a lot of M14s for sale that have either a DA or a SA hammer only. Are there hammers available that are able to be used in both modes. binski

A hammer that can be used in DA can also be used in SA. The majority of Model 14's have hammers that can be used for both modes. A SA only hammer does not have the DA sear attached to it, and is in fact, made differently, in other words it cannot be made to function in the DA mode.
