Default Tru-Oil by Birchwood Casey/pics

can't be sold in CA anymore. Appears they do not want
to put a CANCER label on their product. Lab results show if
you inject a 4oz lab rat with 1 oz of tru-oil he might get
cancer Anyway another item to smuggle in from the free
world. Glad I got some before the ban! So I could go from
this

to this

I used Tru-oil long ago and now I'm dealing with skin cancer. Or it could be because I used to get burnt to a crisp every summer at the beach for all those childhood years.

But it is great stuff for a long-lasting finish. On guns, that is.

Nice work on the grips. Tru-oil does a great job on wood. Larry

My guess is he'd explode, or die in thirty minutes of catastrophic dysentery, but they could be right.

Tru-Oil is great stuff, and those square stocks look terrific.

That's impressive, brownells only specifies the aerosol can't be shipped here.

Correction they don't allow that either upon closer inspection.

I bought some for my uncle earlier this year from another big online retailer though.

Gee. I just ordered a bottle from Midway for shipment to CA.

I'll see if it comes.

I should be OK because I wasn't planning to inject it -- or drink it either.

Ah... Tru-Oil! Wonderful stuff! I've used it for at least 30 years on all manner of things from gun stocks to small wood projects, furniture, etc. Excellent product!

Maybe you can get a medical true-oil card from a doctor.

Nice handiwork on the stocks. But it's a shame they now will be a lab rat statistic.

Most of us cannot afford a lab rat to test. What if we send you stocks to inject that tru oil in the grain so we can keep abreast of the latest scientific discovery.

I like the pre- truoil finish better. It is much closer to the original finish on the earlier, diamond center stocks. Ok for later vintage grips I suppose.

I'd buff it some with fine 000 or 0000 steel wool to take off the sheen and get it back to the era look like in the first picture. The Tru Oil will still be absorbed into the wood for protection.
