Arrow Re-Color Case parts?

I have a Smith & Wesson Model 58 that a previous owner had the hammer and trigger jeweled. I would like to replace these parts with an original hammer and trigger that have the original color case hardening.

It seems somewhat difficult to find an original hammer for the model 58 that hasn't been modified and is in excellent condition.

Can anyone recommend someone who can Re-color case harden the hammer and trigger?

I believe Turnbull still does the color case hardening you need. I'm sure other on the forum will have additional recommendations.......

Turnbull Mfg. Co. for firearm restoration of antique guns - antique revolvers, antique pistols - including 1886 Winchester rifles, Marlin rifles, Parker shotguns, Colt revolvers, and more

Call or email the usual suspects that do case color hardening work for the restoration and custom gun crowd.
Most used to do hammers and triggers alone. But they may have prohibitive costly minimum fees now if you just want one or two small parts done.
Polishing (prep work) is always extra but you can do your own and save some money. Don't forget to include shipping costs in the deal.
It can add up.

There's others out there doing color case hardening work now. Some are only doing SxS shotgun restoration and such. But do a search on 'color case hardening' or the like and you can probably come up with a few more.
Many of the custom gunsmiths mearly send their work out to one of the above.

Before you send the trigger & hammer out for re-finishing to Turnbull (who does the best work by the way, but you'll have to WAIT and PAY BIG), I would find one on ebay. They are out there and you will have an ORIGINAL finish, not a re-finish. You can also try Jack First un Parts in Rapid City SD. Have patience, look regularly and you will get the set.

Give Fogle's Gunsmithing a call at 937-355-6085. I have had a trigger and a hammer done for an old triplelock and was happy with the results. The charge was about $30 for each piece. Might cost extra for polishing out the swirls on your parts. Fogle is located in west central Ohio. About a two week turnaround time for my parts. Regards, Gary

I do Color Case Hardening. Smith Hammers and Triggers run 40.00 each and most frames run 20.00 to 250.00 I have a quick turn around time. I also do Bluing and other finishes.
Thanks Bobby

I use different methods depending of the make up of the steel.

BEAUTIFUL WORK! Bad background choice - hard to see details of your work with a similar, busy background.
