Some of those older line drawings are easier to see, and make it a bit easier to understand the functioning of the guns compared to the black & white pictures in subsequent manuals, don't they?

I have some of the older S&W revolver & pistol armorer manuals with line drawings, as well as an early Walther P99 armorer manual with line drawings. Comparing that early P99 manual (or even the series of black & white pic SW99/SW99NJ armorer manuals) to the current color pic Walther armorer manuals makes for a really significant difference.

For some reason, line drawings and schematics always help me visualize how a part or parts group actually works. Next best thing to having the actual parts laid out in front of me. These drawings aren't as good as some of their newer, computer generated stuff, but still usable.
