Default Finish Protection on Older Smiths

I have a few older S&W revolvers (50+ years). What is the best way to protect a finish that has a few freckles or blemishes from getting worse? Would Renaissance Wax be good for this?

Default Rig's

If storing the gun, I use Rig's like Alex Hamilton does.

I have found renaissance wax is the best...I think of it like this..if I want to protect the finish on my car...to I wipe it down with an oily rag...or wax it?that being said renaissance wax was formulated to do this with firearms

Be sure you have stopped the rust progression before you apply the Ren Wax!

Is Ren wax good for storage. If so should it be just left on to haze, or does it still require a coat of oil for prolonged storage?

How do you do that? Clean it well?

Use it instead of oil on the exterior, but depending on your climate, oil the insides.

Default Satin Blued Guns

Another question just occurred to me. I was originally thinking about bright blued guns. How about the satin blued variety. Same advice?
