Can you size down N frame stag stocks to K frame?
I bought a set beautiful magna style stag grips on GB that were advertised as K frames. They showed up and I installed them on a K22. They hang over the frame on the front and back about 1/16". The "horns" hang over the back about 1/8". Are these N frame?
I've been working with wood for 35 years and have access to any and all tools for woodworking. Are the skills necessary to resize these beyond my skill set? I have a fascination for K frames and my thought is to have a set of stags for every one I acquire.
Or should I start shopping for an N frame?

If you can work wood you can work antler or bone. Same rules apply including checking for knots or other soft spots before you start so you don't end up with a divot in the finished product. And always wear a mask (bone dust is much worse than sawdust).

Start shopping for a N frame....Sounds like a GREAT excuse to buy a new Gun! Also you may be able to sell them and make a few bucks.N frame stocks always sell for more than K frame and if they are vintage Sambar Stag they can be worth quite a bit.

The answer is yes you can, but since the N frame Stags (at least Sambar Stag grips) are so expensive and hard to get these days it would be a crying shame to do so. K Frame Sambar Stag grips are a bit easier and less expensive to find IMHO. I'd say either get an N Frame (you "need" one anyway) or just sell them and buy a set for a K Frame. You should have no problem selling them as long as they're in good shape.
If you do decide to re-size them for your K - (easy of you are a wood worker) just make sure to wear a good dust mask and do the sanding outdoors. The dust gets everywhere and will take you longer to clean up than to sand them down! You also do NOT need to inhale all the fine dust which is very bad for your lungs. I have a fairly extensive basement work shop BUT make a habit of doing all my sanding, spraying and paining outdoors.
