Default Need a MIM sear spring for a 629-6

I bought a used 629-6, and the sear spring is bent and folded.

( The previous owner also ground down the strain screw, I've replaced it )

when I carefully tried to straighten it out, it snapped in two

Looks like brownells and Midway are out of stock

( seems like brownells never has factory parts anymore )

Anybody know were I find find a 629-6 sear spring ?

Edit - The hammer, sear, etc., are MIM on this newer revolver
Thanks

I don't know that springs are mim parts. Numrich has sear springs listed for $2.49

You still have your termanology mixed up. Reading your posts I sometimes think you are describing the spring for the Double Action Sear and at other times the Mainspring. There is a big difference between the two, in fact the Mainspring is a Leaf Spring and the DA Sear Spring is a coil Spring.

If it's the DA Sear Spring it's in stock at Brownell's. Sear Spring, MIM Hammer : SEAR SPRING, MIM HAMMER | Brownells

If it's a Mainspring one option is SW-MS-223 MAINSPRING FOR S&W K,L,N FRAME REVOLVER | Brownells

Another option, reduced power, is SW-MS-222 MAINSPRING FOR S&W K,L,N FRAME REVOLVER | Brownells

Note, the above are all ribbed Mainsprings made by Wolff, unfortunately the factory Mainsprings appear to be out of stock at this time. Based on personal experience I would suggest getting the full power spring and file fit the Strain screw about 0.015-0.020 shorter than original new length. That should yield a DA trigger weight in the 9.5-10.5 lbs range with 100% perfect reliability.

Sorry, I've got a house full of teenage girls this weekend.

It's not the mainspring.

It's the (small coil ) Double Action Sear Spring

here...

Which I see OUT OF STOCK at brownells

.

Having changed out that little bugger I can understand why yours was broken, they are a real challenge to fish out. Tip on that particular, use an Exacto knife to "walk" the spring out of the hole one coil at a time. once you have it completely clear slide the Exacto knife under the spring and the DA Sear will slide right out.

BTW, I tried to find this spring on Numrich's web site with no luck at all. Unfortunately they do not have their site set up to allow searching by the factory part number. If you need to get this spring sooner than what S&W indicated it may be worthwhile to call them up on their land line. I've found parts at Numrich's that were out of stock everywhere else.
