Default S&W Revolver / J Frame Armorer school

I am signed up for an armorer class for the Revolver / J Frame DAO. The tool kit lists for about $400.00. I may have most of the tools but some of the file types I cannot identify such as a Barrett #1 or a Babbitt-Round. Is buying their toolkit worth the money?

I don't know about cost of tool kit/ class. The round babbit is a hunk of lead to do fine adjustments. The barrett #1 maybe one used to finish fitting hand to cylinder.

In 1979 I had the great fortune to attend the Smith and Wesson armorer's school at the factory.
Following is a photo of my tools some from the factory some added through time.
Files
Grace hollow ground screw drivers
Peening hammer
Peening block
Yoke strecher
Babbet- well used !
Chuck for tightening-loosening extractor rods
fixture for checking run out of extractor rod
Staking tool for rear sight blade nut
Split driver for rear sight blade nut
Factory feeler gauges for head space and barrel cylinder gap
Hand window file
Factory punches with rounded tips so they will not slip of pins
Hardened center pin to check alignment of yoke to frame
Fixed center pins to check funtion of the action with the cylinder/yoke out of gun
Stones

The round lead babbit is used to free the side plate from the frame. It is definitely not for fine adjustments.

There are two Barret files in the picture, one on the far left and one two files over to the right. The babbit is the long round item to the right of the bench block. The Barrett file is used to fit the ratchets to the hand as well as fitting the cylinder stop. The babbit can be used to remove the sideplate, to adjust the poi on fixed sight revolvers and to seat the cylinder back against the recoil shield to make sure there are no burrs on the ratchets.
