Default Repairing Grips

Has anyone on the forum ever had any success in repairing warped grips? I have a pair the for a Browning semi-auto that other then being warped are in nice condition.
I'd like to flatten them back out if possible.

Sometime in the past there was a post on heating plastic grips (Franzite ?) in a micro to bring them back to original shape.

Temporarily yes, but long term no. They always seem to go back where they want to be.

While we're at it, I've never had any long term luck steaming out dents in rifle stocks either.
