Just bought a m-28 took off the side plate to clean inside and found a pin inside of the trigger return spring .It is .095 dia.by .706 long. Any reason for it to be their ?
They come that way from the factory, it is a trigger over travel stop pin. Many times they are removed, and you really cannot tell any difference.
I say leave it in as long as the revolver is working OK.
They were common on N Frames to limit trigger travel after hammer release INSTEAD of the frame screw-in variety on the K Frames. Some used to report that the screw-in style would loosen up over time although I have never personally experienced that with any of mine.
Would you clarify something for me? Is this a lose pin just laying inside the spring, horizontally, if you will? My 625 PC came with a trigger stop pressed into the back of the trigger. I have replaced my trigger with a wider version, sans stop. I have my SA set very nicely, but the overtravel is pretty excessive.
