SS frame alloy
Does anyone here know the exact SS alloy S&W uses to forge their frames from?

On the metal framed semi-automatics I believe it is 410.

Typical Stainless Steels used to make barrels are type 416 and type 436. Both have mechanical properties very similar to good old 4140 so I wouldn't be a bit surprised if the revolvers used one of these two grades.
