Well I went through all my parts boxes of Smith & Wesson parts tonight, and I also saw the post asking about the 29 Endurance Package part and thought it would be fun to try to get a running thread by which we ID the part/parts as well as the era/years S&W used them in pistols. I don't know everything and think it could help other guys with parts as well as build a form of part ID database. So if you guys and gals want to join feel free to post up a part try to give some dimensions so we have a record for down the road.
I will start it off with a couple of assemblies I just took out of my parts bin and snapped some photos.
1. Extractor & Extractor Rod Assembly. Extractor rod measures 1.930" Right Hand Threads. Extractor is for a 6 shot 38 spl, it features to notches cut into the end. We have a center pin that measures 3.125". We also have a lock type washer and a Extractor Collar with two "horns" that fit into the notches into the notches in the extractor.
2. We have a cylinder and yoke assembly. Cylinder is 6 shot and has a length of 1.250" the diameter is 1.260" and is marked with a S/N 69993. Extractor rod had the collar machined into it and has a length of 2.3" with R/H threads. It has a knurled un-blued nut that threads to the end. The yoke is marked B 69993. Chamber length is .900" measured from face of cylinder.
Have fun guys
