Default Ultrasonic cleaning

Would it hurt the gun to dunk the whole gun and clean it? I was thinking of removing the grips and side cover and cleaning it. You could then lube it and put the grips and side cover back on. Recon how that would work? Would this process hurt the vials night sights?

If it is a blued gun I wouldn't do it. I have a M&P that I put in my ultrasonic cleaner. The whole gun would not fit in. I figured I would do one half and then the other. It left a ring around the part out of the tank. I put that part in but the ring didn't come out. As for the sights I wouldn't know.

I only use my ultrasonic Crest cleaner on stainless handguns or other non-blued item. It does great on my .45 brass. I use Ottosonic cleaning solution from Jules Borel. My cleaner has a heater which really helps the solution work to its greatest potential.
