Default m41 feeding/ejection issues

Help! My usually reliable M41 has taken to jamming regularly. It either fails to fully extract the fired case and attempts to load the next round, or it closes on an empty chamber rather than picking up the next round. I've tried several different magazines, five different brands of standard velocity ammunition - nothing yet. Any suggestions??

First step is to break it down and clean in detail - attention to the slide parts (extractor area, firing pin area for built up crud often hidden), pull grips and clean frame completely, and take down and clean mags. Check extractor for movement, tension, and any chips/damage. Check firing pin for movement and any tip damage. Check bbl. for any pinging at feed and chamber and bbl CLEAN. Check ejector for movement and damage. Consider replacing slide spring if heavy usage. Lightly lube parts.

Assume you are using same ammo that worked in the past. Some recommend a drop of oil on first round before inserting mag.

Had similiar problems with my 41 years ago and a good cleaning solved everything. The amount of lead buildup in the barrel was substantial. A good wire bore cleaner and lead disoloving solivent did wonders.
