Default Question on trigger rebound springs

Are the trigger rebound springs the same on all of the S&W model revolvers ? I think WOLF states they are common, yet i see some for the "J"frames are shorter. Are they clipped for the "J"frame or are they specific to the "J" frame and different manufactured to specific length for each model?

Most are common length. The j-frames were shorter....although I have seen full length springs in j-frames before. A 17 coil spring in a j-frame rebound slide makes for an interesting action!
BTW, use caution when removing these springs and always wear glasses to protect your eyes.....and....might want to use a rag to protect your thumb!

Yeah, I've had to replace some 17-coil rebound slide springs in older J's with the standard 15-coil spring for the J's. The heavier springs made for some heavy DA triggers.

In one instance, the guy who brought it to me said that it was a J his wife kept handy at home when he wasn't around. After I replaced the 17-coil spring with the 15-coil spring, he praised the "trigger job" I'd done.

Of course, I'd dressed a couple of burred spots and made sure the specs (and wink) were within normal, but I think what he mostly noticed and appreciated was just having the normal rebound slide spring in the gun.
