Cylinder release sticks on my Model 29-2
Just bought a Model 29-2 and love it. However the cylinder release catch sticks. Took the catch off, can see it is lubricated, is there a "fix" for this? without taking it to my friendly gunsmith?

catch
most likely it is the ejector rod, maybe bent or have a burr on it.

Check if the ejector rod is loose. The rod is reverse threaded so, turn counter clockwise to tighten.

Check the locking lug end of the center pin for "peening". The end of the pin can become peened during recoil, and the oversized end of the pin then hangs up or can "stick" inside the ejector rod.

Cylinder Release
"Sticky" is sort of confusing to me cause there are several things and pieces that move when you press it forward. My suggestion would be to open the cylinder and then pull the cylinder release back and release it. If it snaps back then it would not be the release. If it is sticking, then something is happening inside with that portion of the innards. It could possibly be an ill fitting release button binding. If it snaps back, then the problem will be forward of the cylinder release, ejector rod, center pin, etc.
Hope this helps.
