How do i find a local Smith smith? I mean a compentant one.
I have a little glitch in a 66-2. I have no interest in tackling this myself.
Sorry, "competent"

I find the best information usually comes from the local gun club. Ask shooters every time you go to the range for their opinions on local smiths and you will soon be able to zero in on the most trusted ones in your area. Most dedicated shooters have had work done on their guns over time and will have some good reasons why they choose one over the other.

This may or may not help but if you have a indoor range in the area with rental guns they may be able to help. I repaired and maintained revolvers for a couple of range operators years ago until I got burned out. Those guns lead a tough life and if there is something that can break or needs repairs or replacement these guns will get it. I had quite a few K & N frames with 150k rounds through them that were still functioning 100%.

With great difficulty! The best ones are ridiculously priced and have very long waiting times. The ones with reasonable prices and immediate service are well - - - a red flag of question marks as to their quality and competence. If you find a REAL GS who is competent and decently prices, buy a lottery ticket that day!
And this is EXACTLY why I have done my own since the 80's.
