I have installed several gold bead front sights. You need to be SUPER careful when punching out the pin. when i goes it can really take off- after doing several, I got a bit careless and lost one. to this day it has never been found - a large zip-lok baggiecan help here.
while you have the blade off, depending on the barrel length, I might have a new STM gold bead front sight you can have for what I paid -- having said that, if you just want to knock the front sight down, and are SURE that is what you need to do, the sight need not be removed. just dress it down with a file and touch up with a CASEY bluing pen--- I have done that as well, upon request.
