Default 625 MG Cylinder Release

I have a 625-6 and a 625-9, both Mountain Guns in .45 Colt. The cylinders on both can be tough to open. It seems that the pin in the extractor is hanging up in the frame. It can be opened, but it is necessary to apply more than normal pressure on the cylinder. My other S&W revolvers have not had this issue, but both my 625 MG's do. Anyone else have experience with this issue?

These pictures are not of either of my guns, but do illustrate what I am talking about.

Thanks!

Check to make sure that the ejector rod is tight

If that does not solve it, look under the extractor star for unburnt powder

These two things account for the bulk of all cylinders that are hard to open

Agree, a good clean and oil top to bottom is a good start. Extractor rod tight. Is this a new problem or has it always been like this?

I got both guns recently and have cleaned them both twice. They are great other than this issue. It feels like the pin is hanging on the frame as it tries to clear the hole. It's as if the cylinder release is not pushing the pin far enough out.

Both of you were correct. It was a simple matter of tightening the ejector rod. All is well now. Thanks!
